If you have been hanging around with Alana Kay Art for any length of time, you know I found my green thumb about 4 years ago. Before that time, I killed every single plant anyone ever gave me or that I bought and planted myself. I longed for a beautiful back yard, front flower bed, and beautiful blooms and textures everywhere I looked outside. So, I did it! I found someone to teach me a few things and then I took off running with it.
My flowers bring me so much joy! They inspire me. They add more color to my days. And they teach me so many life lessons. This new collection of paintings include versions of flowers around my home. I hope these beauties bring you as much joy as the real life versions bring to me.
The paintings are resin and acrylics. I played with layering acrylic paint on top of resin to create intentional shiny vs. matte areas. It is a really cool contrast and the light catches all of the small resin areas popping from behind.
