Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

By May 3, 2018 Gift Ideas

With Mother’s Day approaching so quickly many of us are asking ourselves: “how do I fit 365 days’ worth of thank you’s into one day?” Even when we hate to admit it, our moms are almost always right and ready to pass on that knowledge AND they are probably the most well-intentioned people we know. If you’re a mother yourself now, you know how hard it is to try and be so awesome all the time – ha – and all mothers want and deserve a gift that shows that their hard work has been noticed.

No gift could accurately say how much we appreciate mothers, but believe that the best way to show you’ve been thinking about them is by getting something that speaks to them and your relationship – it doesn’t have to be expensive it just has to show you put love and thought into it. What speaks louder than art?

Ultra Violet (for sale, click SHOP)

Pure art – with a sweet card of course – is an amazing option because it can be hung up and every time they pass it they will think of you. Imagine having a hard day and feeling useless, it’s days like those that moms need a beautiful pick me up. An added beauty of art is that it is lasting so that when that gloomy day presents itself the art is waiting to show you the beauty of the day. I mean the idea isn’t that revolutionary. Remember when we were kids and would paint something cute at school and bring it home on Mother’s Day? Remember how much they loved that stuff? Geez, some moms may even still have those early pieces of artwork. Well, now that we are all grown up, we can still give art, even if we don’t make it ourselves.

Badass Acrylic Tray, 11×16″

Home décor is another good option and runs along the same lines. This is a good option if you aren’t able to afford a commissioned piece right now and if you didn’t find a good pre-made piece that evoked the right emotion or memory. You could get something you know they will love and use often! Does she love breakfast in bed? Maybe think about a fun coffee mug and serving tray. Is she a bookworm? Maybe look into a book she’s been eyeing and a cozy blanket or pillow to curl up with while she reads.

Viridescent Pleated Midi Skirt

For those fashionista moms, maybe look into Summer clothes as an option! We have beautiful pleated midi skirts she would love to show off. Or if you know you have a beach bum on your hands you could help her prepare for the season of sun with our bathing suit cover-up and a fun sun hat! (Cover ups coming soon!)

Whether your mom is a fashionista, bookworm or art connoisseur, AlanaKayART has something she is sure to love!
